NSTEM provides these young STEM enthusiasts with a close community of like minded fellow students and educators.
The National STEM Honor Society believes that STEM is an exciting journey through all grade levels, that starts early and lasts a lifetime… From Pre-K to Career.
The High School Student
The minds of high school students are energized and their passions ignited throughout their STEM Journey Through the Grades. As they progress through their high school experience with their highly developed STEM community, they are transforming into young leaders while striving to pursue recognition, their goals, and their dreams!
As students are introduced to local and global challenges, they enhance their STEM education through student-centered, project-based learning enrichment activities, which provide opportunities for understanding, application of knowledge, problem solving, and collaboration.
As students gain valuable experience and recognition, they strengthen their resumes, standing out to future employers and colleges/universities. The development of critical and creative thinking lead to a competitive edge in career readiness options including pursuing a college degree in STEM disciplines, furthering career technical education, or starting a rewarding STEM career directly out of high school.
The High School Educator
The educator focuses on giving students the upper hand in a global landscape as they build their experiences and resumes toward future readiness.
Through enrichment activities that advance their STEM education, teachers enable their students to successfully transition into college/university, to strengthen their career technical education, or to start a rewarding STEM career directly out of high school.
High school educators work to spur critical analysis and creative thinking while energizing and igniting student passion throughout the STEM journey. They foster a STEM community by supporting their students in becoming leaders, encouraging them to pursue recognition, and inspiring them to strive toward their goals and dreams.
Observation, exploration, and application are developed through modeling by teachers, practiced by students, and deepened through meaningful investigations and conclusions. Educators focus on project based learning enrichment providing students with real world experiences that transform them into aspiring leaders and problem solvers.
Students often reflect on how much a particular high school teacher had such a powerful and important influence on their interests, career choices, and lives.
