After installing your SpeedFun, your e-bike’s display will show real data up to 12mph (20km/h) – at higher speeds, the display will show half speed and relative data making it possible, by simply multiplying in mind by two, the calculation of the actual speed and miles or kilometers traveled. The motor’s electric assistance switches off when reaching 30mph (50km/h). How does SpeedFun Work? The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor’s power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula: Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km] After installation, your tuning kit will be activated with the activation of your eBike. This tuning kit can be activated / deactivated also, but only by your choise, you do not need to do it everytime you turn On ebike. Activation and deactivation: – Turn the ebike off and on again. Do not move it or do other operations. – Raise the rear wheel, give a strong pedal with the longest (hardest) gear engaged. – Let it run for a few seconds. – The system recognizes the acceleration and considers it as an activation or deactivation command (cyclically). Upon activation, the display shows the speed that change from real to halved in the manner described above. You just need to remove the cover from the motor and attach the connectors. You will need a basic toolkit, some bikes may require a crank puller. When you remove the Tuning kit, you need to check the wheel size, if it is smaller then original. Then you need to put Tuning kit back to ebike.
