I am Dherlyn Eduria from San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines. I love editing and exploring new skills, always looking for opportunities to grow and improve. I became interested in working with NSTEM because of their mission to promote STEM education and innovation, which aligns with my passion for learning and creativity. What I enjoy most about STEM is its ability to solve real-world problems and inspire curiosity, and I’m excited to contribute my skills to support NSTEM’s initiatives.

My name is Destinee, and I am from Xenia, Ohio. I have a BA in Graphic Design and Media Arts, and I am currently pursuing a MS degree in Information Technology with a concentration on web design. I am currently a freelance graphic/web designer while attending SNHU. I chose NSTEM for the opportunities it provides. I am looking to broaden my knowledge, and I value the chance to learn from dedicated professionals.

Carlos Canales

Hello, everyone. My name is Carlos, and I’m from Rhode Island, United States. I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Johnson & Wales University. My favorite things to do are work out and walk my dog. I like to destress by gaming and spending time with my puppy.

Some of my achievements include completing my bachelor’s degree with honors and reverse engineering an image server to duplicate the system for work when nobody knew how it was made. So, I created a process for replication in case something happens.

Hi, my name is Matthew and I am from Malaysia. I have recently graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Film. I focus on screenwriting as it has always been my passion to tell creative stories. I also picked up videography because it is another form of storytelling in a way. NSTEM offers a lot of possibilities to me as an intern. I hope that over the course of my internship, I will be able to sharpen my skills and meet new people outside of the school environment. Aside from my work, I do love a good gaming session and watching the latest movies or anime.

I am a cinematic arts major at Houston Christian University in Houston, TX with the hope of being a screenwriter and director. I was a teacher for ten years where I established the Fine Arts department. I chose to work at NSTEM because it provided a flexible schedule to help me better my time management skills and gave me the opportunity to further learn about how the arts are integrated in STEM.

I’m a junior at Wayzata High School in Minnesota, and I’m passionate about data analytics and technology. Some of the projects I’ve worked on include creating the BPA Game Day Grill website, where I gained hands-on experience in web development. I am familiar with programming languages like Java and Python, and I have experience using advanced libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib for data analysis. I chose to work for NSTEM because I want to expand my skills in data analytics and work in a field that encourages problem-solving and innovation. What I enjoy most about STEM is the ability to analyze data to uncover insights that can drive meaningful decisions and make a real impact.

I aspire to work in this field in the future and be able to use my creativity and ideas for my work. My dream is to one day create a cartoon show like Adventure Time or Steven Universe. My name is Richard Dworsak, and I am from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. I currently attend Millersville University, where I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. My passion for website creation and development began during my time at Lancaster County Career and Technology Center, where I discovered how designing and improving websites allows me to combine creativity with helping others express their ideas and achieve their goals.

I chose NSTEM because it provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience and contribute to an organization’s mission through impactful website development. One of my proudest accomplishments was revising and enhancing a website during a group project. Despite being left to handle the task alone, I successfully delivered a polished and user-friendly website that met all of the professor’s requirements. This experience demonstrated my ability to adapt, focus on quality, and deliver results under challenging circumstances.

I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor’s in psychology and have a strong interest in human resources and I/O Psychology. I joined NSTEM during my final year at CSULB in Fall 2023 as part of a course credit class, and I’ve continued with the organization since serving as a Manager, Co-Director, and now a Fellow in the HR department. What drew me to NSTEM was its mission to support K-career students in pursuing their passion for STEM fields and the opportunity for me to explore my interests in HR while gaining hand-on experience to build my skills. An accomplishment I’m proud of is successfully managing a LinkedIn page that had over 100 new followers every 2 weeks, showcasing the power of strategic communication and connections.

Hi! My name is Lai Jiang, and I’m from China, Liaoning Province. I am currently studying at Duke Kunshan University, majoring in Media and Arts tracks in Film and Documentary. I enjoy playing video games and some musical instruments. I am now doing some student work in the Campus Engagement Office of the school, related to event planning and organization. At the same time, I am also following up on shooting some short films. I hope that joining NSTEM can increase my work experience and also improve the relevant skills of my major.

I’m excited to work with NSTEM because I am motivated to help promote excellence in STEM fields including neuroscience and cognitive science that will interface with developing computer technology. I’ve previously volunteered for The Cat Connection, a cat shelter where I had to feed the cats. Hello! My name is Rebecca Cunningham, and I am currently a first-year MSEM graduate student in the University of South Carolina. I have been an intern of the Website and Technology team for some time now and have recently taken on the W&T Department Manager position. I chose to work to NSTEM due to its close ties with not only STEM activities but also the act of teaching the newest generation about the importances of STEM. I had strong STEM influences in my childhood due to both my school and my community, so I understand the importance of STEM learning and utilization. I am glad to work for an organization that innovates independent learning, skill-building, and the effect of STEM in real-life scenarios.

Hello! I am Matthew Kaiser from Hollywood, Florida. I recently graduated from FAU with a major in multimedia studies in film, video, and new media. Throughout my academic career, my biggest interest has been creative storytelling through the visual medium, with experience using different software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects for video editing.

I was born and raised in Brazil, and I have loved film and videomaking ever since I can remember. Currently, I am a freelance film/videomaker and photographer, as well as a Social Impact Entertainment intern at E2AC. My work history is working for Walmart for like 8 years now and that taught so much how to be leader/communicate with my fellow associates. Outside my job I love to travel to see others places, spend quality time with friends and family, and going to see the latest movies. My passion is animal welfare, environmental concerns, and diversity and inclusion. As a 28-year-old, who has had a varied set of interests growing up ranging from music, science, and philosophy to politics and young children, I have a decent exposure to the world and a good understanding of how I can make an impact in what I do.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, 5 and half years of work experience, Certified in Apple Software Support and Hardware Technician. 

I am currently pursuing my MS in Digital Media and I sought this internship to hone in on skills that I possess other than these. For example, I am a huge physics and geography nerd when it comes to learning more, I love science in general including biology and medicine. I feel science in general is designed so that humans can share the knowledge they have with others, learn from it, and also develop new methodologies and rules to solve unsolvable problems.

I grew up in Plymouth, Michigan, moved back to Goa ( Formerly: Estado da Índia Portuguêsa), and then came back to Louisville, Kentucky. But during this entire time, I have remained core to my American and Portuguese heritage.

What I really enjoy about STEM is the ever-expanding information that humans are always discovering and learning about. There is so much out there for us to uncover and research, which I find to be incredibly exciting. I have always loved science classes and always found the curriculum to be fascinating. Chemistry was my favorite STEM class I have ever taken! Through NSTEM, I believe that I will broaden my love for STEM and all of the amazing things it has to offer.

Hey everyone,
I live in a small town, West Tawakoni, Texas. I spent 33 years as a teacher in Kaufman, TX in a 5th & 6th-grade classroom. During the COVID lockdown, I returned to school and pursued my Master’s degree in Communication & Media from NDMU. I retired from teaching in 2021 and graduated in December 2022. I am ready to jump in and start my new career.
I used Project Based Learning in my own classroom to teach World History. World History was boring to me, and I knew that if I wasn’t interested in it, then my students would not be. I researched PBLs and created several projects to learn about government, culture, and even geography.
I am excited to begin this new adventure with NSTEM. I look forward to working with everyone.
On a personal note, I love to bake and have a small cottage baking business, Patti’s Treats. My specialty is baking and decorating cookies and cakes.

I’m majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience, which I find fascinating because it combines my love of biology and psychology. Although I have grown an interest in the field of computer science early on, I truly didn’t love it until I began attending an engineering class in my school where we have been learning the HTML language. Hey! I’m Mikaela Broitman! Currently, I am a sophomore enrolled in New Dorp High School in Staten Island, New York and I am in the Math and Science Institute Honors Program. I found an authentic interest in computer science since I have began learning programming languages in my free time and I realized that there are so many more opportunities that this skill can take me. I had started an elective course, Engineering Drawing, in my program and found a genuine fascination with programming languages, especially those for web development. I enjoyed software problem solving and web development, so I wanted to follow my passion since then. Hello, my name is Cameron Hendricks. I reside in the small town of Milton in the small state of Delaware. I graduated from Pace University in New York City with a Film and Screen Studies Major with a History Minor. Video production and Video editing have always been a passion of mine, and with NSTEM I will use my passion for the greater good of the community while upholding the standards set forth by NSTEM themselves.

My draw to NSTEM is twofold: I want to put the skills that I learned throughout my time at Pace as my final exam, and I want to contribute to the community by promoting the ideas of STEM in a time where Science is getting a lot of pushback. You see, during my time out of college, I spent my time in the educational world helping students in a school district I grew up with. Science has always been at the forefront of everything and a career path that students in primary education should consider, especially with the recent pushbacks in modern society nowadays, my goal in NSTEM is not only to make and edit videos but to continue to push the idea of Science and STEM onto a new generation and beyond. I was always fond of science and with this opportunity, I want to promote what I enjoy to the community that needs it the most.

My dream job after NSTEM and my career? Maybe to work on Netflix’s Season 2 of Wednesday or some other big show or film production. But the future is always a sight to behold. I am eager to join the NSTEM team, and I look forward to helping out!

Hello everyone! My name is Anna, and I’m an international intern from Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, but because of the war, I’m currently staying in Poland, Kielce. I study remotely in a Ukrainian online school, and I’ve also been cramming for the IELTS to meet my requirements in order to continue to tertiary education in the USA as I intend to study for my Bachelor`s degree there.

I have a wide range of interests starting with journalism and ending with psychology, and philosophy, so right now, I’m trying to explore and take part in all-round activities, but one of my favorites is an online-magazine called “Her Choice”, where I work with an international team of teenagers as well as young people to conduct interviews along with writing articles.

I am majoring in Business Administration, and plan to transfer this fall to UMass Lowell where I will obtain my bachelor’s degree. I am also a mom of two beautiful children and my family is my world! I function as the Programming Tutor Lead and Outreach Director for Aspire to Code, an organization that I helped co-found with “social computing” at the core of its charter. During Summer 2022, I will be carrying out fundamental research on Human-Computer Interaction and Social Computing at the University of California, Santa Cruz through their Summer Internship Program (SIP). Northview High School

Hi, my name is Jahnavi Ratnapu and I’m from Suwanee, Georgia. I am currently a rising senior at Northview High School. Due to my growing passion for Finance and Computer Science, I can’t wait to step into my professional life and explore the numerous career opportunities offered to me. I do have a passion for another career path as well: teaching young kids. I’ve been working at Seriously Addictive Math for over a year now, and the experience and skills I’ve gained from working here are remarkable. I enjoy volunteering and giving back to the community through many programs and events. A few interesting facts about me is that I’m very passionate about painting, singing, and dancing. They’ve always been a huge part of my life; I always look for ways to progress in those areas. Karate has been in my life for the past 9 years and I’ve earned the black belt 3 years ago. Lacrosse is a new sport that I recently picked up and I’m currently a part of Northview High School’s Girls JV Lacrosse team.

One of the main reasons why I chose to work for NSTEM is due to a program called 3DE. 3DE is a program that my school offers to develop an individual’s teamwork, communication, creative thinking, critical thinking, and many other skills through activities such as case challenges and developing our own businesses. Through case challenges, we’ve been exposed to companies’ real-life problems, and we’ve been challenged to find solutions. NSTEM reminded me a lot of 3DE, they’re both diverse in skill set and are both organized in what they do.

My name is Brianna and I will be starting my senior year at Lander University in South Carolina come the fall. I am a biology major with a photography minor and hope to teach high school biology when I am done with school. That is why NSTEM stood out to me, because it combines STEM and education, which are two of my passions. I look forward to playing a role in this program.

Hi! I’m Kelly Pellegrino from Los Angeles, California and I currently attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. I am majoring in environmental and sustainability studies with a minor in business and I will continue on to achieve a masters degree in climate science and solutions in fall 2022. I’m involved in various organizations on campus and I enjoy leadership, learning, and teamwork in school, and environmental protection, arts & crafts, and movies outside of school. I chose to intern with NSTEM in their business operations sector because of my business minor and my interest in how successful businesses in America run. Hi, I’m Andrew Kelso! I’m from Southwest Connecticut and I major in Media & Screen Studies at Northeastern University. I’m a filmmaker and have experience shooting and editing video. My goal is to have my own production company and constantly improve the projects I work on. In my spare time I enjoy exploring the local area, going hiking, and playing Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Switch. I’m also a big movie buff and will happily talk anyone’s ear off about it!

Hello everyone! I’m Sophia and I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Currently, on top of interning with NSTEM, I am working at my local pizza place and I love every minute of it! I really came to find enjoyment in media production over the last year in college so it was natural for me to seek an internship this summer in that field. Along comes NSTEM, a perfect fit! I hope to hone my skills in video editing through this opportunity, and I am so glad to be here.

Hi, my name is Christalin Dorsey (she/her) and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.

In my spare time, I love building things (whether it be Lego or real furniture); playing video games with friends such as Minecraft, Valorant, and more; and working on some of my passion projects to increase my knowledge and understanding of computer programming.

I chose to become a Website and Technology Intern for NSTEM due to their mission to truly change the STEM industry. Throughout my childhood, there was no such company or organization that I knew of that had the same passion and drive to do what NSTEM is doing; inspiring and motivating students K to Career with hands-on STEM activities as well as creating a safer and more expressive environment for underrepresented groups in the industry. As NSTEM’s missions aligned with my own, partaking in such an amazing organization became the best decision I have ever made.

Hi, my name is Polina, and I’m an international intern from Krasnodar, Russia. I am currently homeschooled at Moscow’s Stolichniy-KIT School. I intend to pursue higher education in the United States, with a focus on Business Management or Marketing.

Since high school, I’ve been involved in the E-commerce industry, having completed two practical internships that provided me with valuable expertise. Entrepreneurship has changed my life and given me access to an international community that has helped me discover a passion for projects and enterprises. As a result, I’m currently working on a youth-run website as well as a business accelerator for teen-led projects. However, I consider myself a creative person with a strong artistic background. Collaboration of contradictory ideas is important to me since it leads to new discoveries.

I believe I met this group of engaged and curious people at NSTEM that are proactive in seeking out new possibilities to obtain new experiences!

Hi, I’m Melanie! Though I’m from Maryland right outside of Washington, DC, I am currently a rising junior at Indiana University. I am majoring in Film and TV with a minor in graphic design. I love to design and edit videos, basically anything creative! I love STEM because as a designer/editor I am able to relay important information in a creative way and combining those two things really intrigues me.

My name is Regan Soltis I am from Easton, PA. I currently a senior at Penn State University, while majoring in Labor of Human Resources and minoring in Business of Liberal Arts. Some interests of mine are spending time outdoors, cooking, rock climbing, and spending time with people who make me happy! A fun fact about me is I have a twin sister. I wanted to work with NSTEM since it made an impact on me in high school. I took school very seriously, and I really loved math and science in school and NSTEM was a great option for many students like me. I might be in a different major today, but I want to make many other students aware of how great it is. What I enjoy most about NSTEM is the amazing benefits and resources they provide for students who want to excel more in these specific skills. Hi everyone! My name is AJ. Although I live near San Diego, I was born and bred in Seattle and still consider the PNW to be my true home. I’m a junior at Mount Holyoke College studying Computer Science and a Self-Designed Major in Creative Writing, Film, Music, and Theatre. I’m excited to work for NSTEM this summer in the Video and Web/Tech departments because I’m passionate about the intersection of STEM and the humanities, and I want to combine these fields into a future career in Science Communication. Additionally, I appreciate NSTEM’s focus on sustainability and diversity, both of which I want to continue being deeply engaged with in my daily life. I’m a huge math and book nerd, and one of my favorite hobbies is finding new hobbies and then abandoning them in favor of other exciting hobbies. What else… I love caprese sandwiches! One time I ate 5 of them in three days.

Hello everybody. My name is James and I am a psychology major at SNHU. I’m also about to attend graduate school to obtain a Master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology. My hometown is called Seymour, a small town in Connecticut.
I am thrilled to be working in the Human Resources division as an intern here at the National STEM Honor Society. This is an opportunity for me to offer interpersonal abilities and to collaborate with such a great team. While Human Resources is a novel experience for me, I’ve always been one to thrive in a highly social role and environment. I’ve been a waiter and in customer service for 7 years, which has provided me with a framework for cultivating interpersonal insights and developing strong communication skills. The combination of this hands on experience and my academic endeavors should provide me with a platform for optimal integration into this role/organization and growth, as well as the ability to make the utmost contribution.

In the past I have worked as an Associate for a clothing company and I was responsible for implementing information system on the computer. I chose to work with STEM because the organization aligns with my goals and vision for the future. I learn a lot from STEM and the people involved in the organization. I want to help other people to be able to receive the same learning experience that I receive everyday being an NSTEM intern. I love NSTEM because it offers many programs that other organizations don't offer. For example they have the technology program, and many children are interested in that area, so for STEM to have that program brings me joy. One of my accomplishments include being a Microsoft Excel Specialist certified.

Hello everybody! my name is Bruno Ferraro Brocanelli! I am 23 years old, and I am from Sao Paulo Brazil. I am currently studying Business Management and Administration at Midland University. My school is located in Fremont, Nebraska. I also play tennis for Midland, and we are currently the champion of our conference. Besides tennis, I also enjoy going to the gym, play soccer, go out with friends and talk to my family. I chose NSTEM because I had a very first good impression of the company, the HR department was very nice with me throughout the whole selection process, and in the first meeting I saw a lot of people from different places of the world, which made me feel very comfortable working here. Originally from Michigan, I moved to Texas to begin serving as an AmeriCorps member. As an AmeriCorps volunteer, I spent two years providing literacy tutoring to K-2 grade students in Title 1 schools. It was this experience that allowed me to see first hand the power of data-driven decision making in social services. Following my time with AmeriCorps, I continued my journey as an advocate for equitable education in Central Texas by working with school districts to provide better outcomes for their students. I am currently pursuing my BS in Information Systems because I believe it is time data professionals play a bigger role in ensuring data justice by working to reduce bias and racial disparity. I chose to partner with NSTEM because of the organization’s mission to develop access, equity, and support.

I also run a nonprofit which brings awareness and attention to Muslims as well as appreciate the diversity and religion. I moved to the United States when I was 16 years old and now I am a senior at the University of Mount Olive, studying Human Resources Management and being a student-athlete. My name is Nidhi Sakpal, and I’m a rising junior at Mountain Lakes High School, NJ. I was born in Pune, India- and have been traveling to different countries all my life since a very young age! I work at NSTEM in the PR and Social Media Marketing departments as a volunteer intern. I am passionate about technology (AI, coding, and design) and am looking to pursue a career in Engineering/ STEM-related fields. At my high school, I am a member of the Forensics Speech and Debate team, ICC, and an incoming varsity athlete on our Track and Field team. In addition to interning at NSTEM, I am an Ambassador of the Global Youth Economic Forum. In the past, I have worked at a K-8 tutoring center and volunteered to teach chess at the Mountain Lakes library. I also volunteer as an intern at ElkShelf, a youth-led organization that helps create a sustainable planet by creating environment sustainability profiles for everyday products. I enjoy running, practicing martial arts, reading, writing, and coding in my free time.
I chose to intern at NSTEM because I believe their mission aligns with my goals and values of providing education, knowledge, and resources to all communities. Choosing to intern at NSTEM gives you access to a unique opportunity, and space to learn and grow your skills, career attributes, and networking– alongside a supportive community. I live in South Brunswick, New Jersey, and I am a sophomore at South Brunswick High School. I have been heavily interested in science since middle school, mainly through the Science Olympiad Team. In addition, I have also been involved in art since a very young age, and these two interests are what I spend all of my free time on. I love the fact that STEM can be used to improve the world around us, and that knowledge in these fields is constantly being expanded and enhanced. I am most interested in the Science, Technology, and Engineering aspects of STEM, mainly shown through my involvement in my school’s Science Olympiad Team.

The reason I have chosen NSTEM is that they help you learn and grow. I believe STEM is important and I am honored to be a part of that. What I enjoy most about STEM is how technology can impact so many lives all over the world. COVID-19 proves how science and technology are vital tools in our everyday lives. From doctors to interns we use technology every day. I would not be able to take part in this internship if weren’t for technology.
