Tange TX-1200W chromoly old school BMX re-issue forks for 20" wheel - STING edition This is a longer steer tube version of the TX-1200W we had made to fit Sting frames. The Sting has a 5" frame headtube and uses a ROAD BIKE headset (not a BMX headset). That leaves 32mm for headset stack height, which just happens to be exactly what the Tange Passage headset has. So will this work on other 5" headtube BMX frames? Not well. If you look at most BMX spec 1" threaded headset stack heights, you will find they range from 39mm to 45mm. So even if you go with the "shortest" headset, there will still be about 7mm of threads on your locknut that will not engage.
