Hi! I’m Emily “Ellie” Hyser (any pronouns), and I was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania, USA. I’m a Senior at Millersville University, and I am an English major with a minor in Journalism. I became interested in English back in middle school when my favorite teacher displayed such passion for literature and writing. This same teacher also encouraged me to pursue my own ideas and critiques, as well as my own writing, which gave me a safe space to explore and practice. Since then, my passion and intrigue surrounding writing, creating, and outreach only grew stronger with time and education. My passion stems from my overwhelming instinct to improve, help the environment, and the people around me. NSTEM made it clear from the beginning that their instincts align perfectly with my mission and passion. They strive to better the world by encouraging brilliant minds to pursue a career in STEM, but they also strive to better the world with their own practices and values of inclusivity, diversity, and creativity. It’s of my opinion there is nowhere better to develop your skills than with NSTEM.
