
National STEM Honor Society™ Scholarship Program
To further inspire and recognize excellence from K to Career™ in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, the National STEM Honor Society™ (NSTEM™) provides two levels of scholarships (up to $1000 each): the NSTEM College/University Scholarship, and the NSTEM Extracurricular Activity Scholarship. NSTEM will review each application with a particular focus on the demonstration of a high level of academic achievement; engagement in STEM disciplines, innovation, sustainability, design, utility, collaboration, problem solving, and student need. Students with an exemplary academic history and demonstrated financial need are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship Application Due Date: March 1. Following a preliminary review round, finalists will be contacted for additional financial information, including tax returns.
- NSTEM College/University Scholarship: This scholarship up to $1000 recognizes an outstanding high school senior who can demonstrate financial need to attend a college or university to pursue studies in a STEM field.

- NSTEM Extracurricular STEM Activity Scholarship: This scholarship up to $1000 is available to student members in any grade. It is intended to provide funding for those in need of financial support in order to participate in an extracurricular STEM activity.
How to Apply: Complete and submit the National STEM Honor Society Scholarship application form (see below), accompanied by a letter of recommendation on letterhead from the applicant’s teacher or Chapter Advisor. The letter of recommendation should include information identifying the candidate; the author’s relationship to the student (ie: teacher, Advisor, etc.); identifying information about the author’s position; and the reasons for nominating the student (ie: what characteristics and/or experiences does the student have that warrant this nomination).
Parents/guardians of the students selected as finalists (or the finalists, if over 18 years old) will be asked to sign photo release forms and provide documentation that demonstrates financial need, as will be further explained in instructions provided to the students in the finalist notification emails.
