The National STEM Honor Society™ (NSTEM™) Announces New Advisory Council Member: Dr. R. Richard “Rick” Lee
NSTEM is delighted to announce Dr. R. Richard Lee, Vice Chairman of the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust in Washington DC, co-founder of the FRESH START organization and developer of Thurgood Marshall Student Program, as its next advisory council member:
As Vice Chairman of the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust, Dr. Lee developed the Thurgood Marshall Student Program, whose mission is to be a beacon for superior student development in communities across America.
FRESH START, the Organization which Dr. Lee co-founded, focuses on the academic development of at-risk kids in the inner cities. In addition, Dr. Lee advises the Society for Human Resources Board for Atlanta, GA., and the Board of Education for Minneapolis Alternative Schools, Minnesota, where he is past Chairman.

The partnership between FRESH START of the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust Student Program and the National STEM Honor Society will enable a rapidly growing number of students from diverse backgrounds to experience broad opportunities in STEM and to foster the student’s STEM passion from From K to Career™.
Dr. Lee is a proven strategic executive with significant global experience and a distinctive leadership approach. Dr. Lee’s successful track record of turning troubled businesses and situations into recognized best-in-class operating companies is impressive. His transformational leadership-thinking, his ability to effect positive change, and his achievement of uncommon results by actively engaging all employees and segments of an organization will positively influence NSTEM’s paragon of inclusive leadership. Dr. Lee has far reaching experience in businesses, serving the Technology/Electronics, Aerospace, Automotive, Building Materials, Business Services, Retail and Food sectors, as well as municipalities, and of course, school districts!
