Pride in STEM
Who Are They?: Pride in STEM is a charitable trust founded in 2016 by Dr. Alfredo Carineti with his husband Chris, and Matt Young, a graduate researcher at the University of Nottingham. The organization aims to “queer up science spaces” and to “science up queer spaces.” Although they are small, they have big goals. Instead of just opening the door, it is time to foster inclusivity in STEM, which includes acknowledging the struggles LGBTSTEM people face.

LGBTQ+ STEM
Who Are They?: LGBTQ+ STEM is an organization focused on diversifying the STEM Community by sharing stories of LGBTQ+ in different STEM roles, all in the hopes of inspiring people interested in STEM. The future of science relies on innovation, and the best way to get there is by making sure that people from all walks of life enter the profession. Image Link Want to Help?: Do your research! LGBTQ STEM wants everyone to be aware of the difficulties LGBTQ+ people face in STEM fields, and the best way to do that is by becoming familiar with other similar organizations. Luckily, you are reading this article, so you are already doing your part! You can also help by sharing your own story with them.

500QS
Who Are They?: 500QS (500 Queer Scientists) is an organization focused on a visibility campaign. The campaign aims to ensure the next STEM generation has LGBTQ+ role models; help the current generation recognize they’re not alone; and create opportunities for community connections and greater visibility within STEM. The campaign keeps growing by having members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies share their unique stories.
Want to Help?: Much like LGBTQ STEM, you can share your story! If that doesn’t sound like something you want to do, keep doing your research.
oSTEM

Who Are They?: oSTEM (Out in STEM) is a non-profit organization professional association for LGBTQ+ people in the STEM Community. oSTEM is also the largest chapter-based organization focused on LGBTQ+ people in STEM. Their goal is to work towards a world where LGBTQ+ people in the STEM community are empowered to achieve success in a safe and supportive environment that celebrates their diversity and contributions. Turing Circle
