According to the US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the average recommended daily water intake is 3.7 liters for men and 2.7 liters for women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drinking Water Week takes place in the first full week of May each year, which is May 1-7 this year. To celebrate, here are some facts and benefits of drinking water!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Fun Facts About Water<\/b><\/p>\n<ol class=\"arrow-fix-ol\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around 60% of the human body is made up of water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around 71% of the earth is covered by water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When babies are born, they are 78% water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cucumbers are 96% water, zucchinis are 95% water, and watermelons are 92% water<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Benefits of Drinking Water<\/b><\/p>\n<ol class=\"arrow-fix-ol\">\n<li><b>It Lubricates the joints<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cartilage, which is on joints and disks of your spine, is made of 80% water. By drinking more water, you are helping your joints maintain their ability to absorb shock.
