Merchandise offered through the NSTEM store\u2014including certificates, medals, apparel, and similar items\u2014may not be independently created with NSTEM logo by any Chapter. Revenues from these sales are vital to sustaining and expanding our impact globally, and our members and Chapters are encouraged to promote and wear genuine merchandise purchased from the NSTEM shop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Compliance and Termination:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By using the NSTEM logo and trademarks, Chapters and members agree to comply with this policy. Any Chapter or member found to be using NSTEM logos, taglines, or insignias without authorization, or involved in the sale of unapproved merchandise, will receive one warning. Continued violations will result in termination of the Chapter\u2019s or member\u2019s affiliation with NSTEM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Trademarks:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NSTEM uses (1) \u201cNational STEM Honor Society\u2122\u201d, (2) the NSTEM logo,\u00a0 (3) \u201cNSTEM\u2122\u201d, and (4) \u201cFrom Pre-K to Career\u2122\u201d (5) \u201cFrom Pre-K to CAREER\u2122\u201das its trademarks (collectively the \u201cNSTEM Trademarks\u201d).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NSTEM\u2122 has received registration for the NSTEM\u2122 logo, and trademark status for both \u201cNational STEM Honor Society\u2122\u201d and \u201cFrom K to CAREER\u201d with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The distribution of the NSTEM\u2122 Trademarks, and the rules for their use, are under the exclusive control of National STEM Honor Society\u2122 which grants to each of the Chapters a limited license to use the NSTEM\u2122 Trademarks only in accordance with the terms and conditions described in these Trademark Usage Guidelines (the \u201cGuidelines\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Use of Trademarks<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NSTEM Trademarks may be used by local Chapters, its members, and all Individual Global Members only in connection with its NSTEM\u2122 activities. The NSTEM Trademarks may be used:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To identify NSTEM\u2122, the Chapter, and NSTEM\u2122\/Chapter products, services, activities, programs, seminars, and conferences; on Chapter related documents (in paper or digital format), <\/span><b>and not on items such as induction certificates, graduation certificates, membership cards, banners, clothing, decals, pins and any other items sold by NSTEM\u2122<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All NSTEM Chapters and members are invited to and encouraged to use the NSTEM Logo on Chapter and personal websites and social media platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only followed by the proper registered trademark symbol which currently\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is \u00ae for the NSTEM\u2122 logo and is \u2122 for the other NSTEM\u2122 Trademarks. Once registration has been approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for \u201cNational STEM Honor Society\u2122\u201d and \u201cFrom K to CAREER\u201c, these Guidelines will be revised to note that the proper trademark symbol is \u00ae for those NSTEM\u2122 Trademarks as well. In written or digital materials, the appropriate symbol must be used with the first or most prominent appearance of the NSTEM\u2122 Trademark in headlines and the first time the NSTEM\u2122 Trademark appears in body text. If the materials or web page includes the NSTEM\u2122 logo which already includes the appropriate trademark symbol, it is not necessary to include a trademark symbol after the word \u201cNational STEM Honor Society\u2122\u201d in the text in that material or web page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NSTEM\u2122 Trademarks may not be used on any website or social media channel that incorporates profanity, sexually explicit content, or that endorses violence or discrimination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cK to CAREER\u201d and \u201cPre-K to CAREER\u201d Designs:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When used in connection with the logo, \u201cK to Career\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cPre-K to Career\u201d must appear in \u201cIndy Italics Plain\u201d font. Otherwise it needs to be in bold, italics and in the same font as the surrounding text.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Logo, Insignia, images, &amp; Icons Design<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons have been created through careful consideration and cannot be included without all elements of the original logo. The original sizing, coloring, spacing, and fonts all contribute to the logo being a critical medium that helps to maintain and reflect our brand and its integrity. Use of the NSTEM\u2122 logo must promote passion for discovery, learning, and positive development of STEM skill sets for future sustainable leadership. The required design elements for the NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There must be clear\/empty space between the logo and any other graphics.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No other logo nor text should invade the empty space that is directly in contact with the NSTEM\u2122 logo.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If other graphics are present, the NSTEM\u2122 logo should be outside of any grouping of other such logos.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons may not be made semi-transparent or have any altered colors, which is vital to maintaining the image of the NSTEM\u2122 organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any documents using the NSTEM\u2122 logos, images, and icons must be in the same colors as the original or use the black and white format provided.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changing the format or color scheme of such images to the colors of a particular school district or academic group is prohibited.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons may not be rotated, and the scale must remain the same as the original. This ensures legibility of NSTEM\u2122 icons while maintaining the formality and integrity of NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons may not be used with additions of any other factors not originally included in them, such as photos or words.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, NSTEM\u2122 logos, images, and icons may not be included within another company\u2019s logo or product. NSTEM\u2122 logo, insignia, images and icons must remain identical to the original provided for a specified educational group or purpose.
