Srihitha Sunkara
Hi, I’m Sri, and I’m from Hopkinton, Massachusetts. I am currently a junior in high school and excited for Senior year! I was allowed to become the Co-Director of Media Relations, specifically the Relationship Management side. I was very involved with the relationship management side of Media Relations and was so happy when asked to be Director. Accepting this leadership position was a no-brainer for me. Throughout my time at NSTEM, I’ve been immersed in the relationship management aspect of media relations, and being offered the chance to step up as Director was both an honor and a thrilling opportunity. I’ve always believed in the power of fostering connections and building strong relationships, and this role allows me to take that passion to the next level. My decision to accept this leadership position was driven by a desire to make a real impact within the organization and the broader STEM community. I’m eager to contribute my skills and experiences to further NSTEM’s mission of promoting STEM education and empowering future generations of innovators. In terms of what I bring to the table, my background in relationship management from being on the junior board and reaching out to other parents with my knack for effective communication and strategic planning will undoubtedly serve me well in this role. I’ve sharpened these skills through various experiences, from organizing STEM outreach events to collaborating with industry professionals. Stepping into this leadership role isn’t just about furthering my own growth—it’s about inspiring others to embrace STEM and empowering them to make a difference. I’m excited to embark on this journey, knowing that it will not only challenge me to become a better leader but also allow me to make meaningful contributions to the STEM community that I hold dear.
