Aaryav Walter
Hi everyone! My name is Aaryav, and I am currently located on the United States’ East Coast. Throughout my childhood, science and engineering had perpetually driven my academic ambitions, and I began to develop a passion for those fields. As my educational aspirations became parallel to my interests, I resolved to immerse myself in environments where STEM could be integrated; for instance, I recently became secretary for the Debate Honor Society where I influenced debate content by providing controversial events or rifts in science news. Entering high school, I had continually desired to discover an internship that could ameliorate my professional qualities, cultivate impactful experience in science for me, and assist me in developing a beneficial workplace network. After surveying National STEM Honor Society’s diverse internship program, the variety of opportunities available compelled me to apply to a media relations internship as my interests both comprised STEM and business marketing. Likewise, when offered the possibility of STEM leadership in my field of interest, I was convinced to become directly involved with the global mission of this company and immediately accepted my position as media relations director. Moreover, I primarily derived my professional skills from prior experiences such as my role as a national scheduling specialist for the American Red Cross and my public relations officer term for the Red Cross club (at my high school); these roles demanded skills relevant to those exercised by the media relations director in terms of the operations run by the department. As department director, the vast responsibilities and connections which are entailed by the role enable me to amplify my contributions in my work environment and will provide the foundation for an innovative future.
