Task 1
Identify the largest School systems in your state with a simple Google search.
Task 2
Identify the top STEM schools in your state from our “Best in STEM database” and NSTEM database.
Task 3
If any of the top STEM schools are in the largest school districts, start there and focus on those STEM acclaimed schools. The idea is to get school systems as quickly as possible rather than one off schools. Think about our motto, “From K to Career”. We want schools to have a feeder program from elementary to middle to high school and through to college. Think about it as a sports analogy, only for STEM programming! Kids who start early build skills and become part of a STEM community!
Task 4
Focus on school “clusters”, natural feeder schools to the higher levels. Which middle schools feed which high schools? Which elementary schools feed which middle schools? Use the sports analogy. Kids start sports in kindergarten and first grade. We are working to make that the exact same with STEM. From K to Career. Start STEM early and have it last a lifetime…
Task 5
Join the STEM Ecosystem in your state. Join other STEM oriented platforms and groups in your state including Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Begin to enhance your network, getting involved attending meetings and reaching out to logical prospects.
Task 6
Have our NSTEM LinkedIn team do a boolean search for the top STEM education professionals in your state. Reach out on LinkedIn and connect with those STEM teachers, principals and superintendents. Study how to use Linked In for relationship building. Go to Ken’s LinkedIn page and Eric’s LinkedIn page and make connection requests of their connections in your market area.
Task 7
Put the schools that you have targeted into email sequences in coordination with our email sending team. Many of them may already be in sequences. A series of emails will automatically go out and you will be responsible for (and excited about!) following up on these leads that have shown interest.
Task 8
We have a huge number of emails going out to highly targeted STEM oriented schools across the country. As there is interest shown by a school in your state, in addition to our automatic responses by interns attempting to get appointments right away, you will be responsible for following up on that lead in a timely manner, within 24 hours. The key goal is to secure a video appointment with the STEM oriented educators and administrators in each school and district.
Task 9
Get to know our huge support network of departments and teams in email sending, market research, public relations, social media, video production, Linked In and member care to support and coordinate efforts with you.
Task 10
As a secondary priority, identify companies and nonprofits in your state or nationally that would be thrilled to sponsor National STEM Honor Society Chapters where they focus, in your state(s).
